We will look to our European partners, the Commission and Member States to exchange experiences and agree joint approaches on issues which go beyond the UK’s borders.

Sustainable development is a fundamental objective of the European Union (EU). The EU Sustainable Development Strategy provides a policy framework to deliver sustainable development.

The key objectives of the strategy are to tackle are climate change, natural resource protection, sustainable transport, ageing population, public health and the global dimension of sustainable development.

The UK Government is committed to addressing these objectives through the UK Strategy and other domestic programmes.
