In a briefing prepared for the Environmental Audit Committee, the National Audit Office gives a high-level landscape overview of options appraisal processes across government, with a focus on incorporating environmental and social factors.
Green partnerships between community groups and local councils
Powerful new partnerships with the common aim of achieving a more environmentally and economically sustainable future can be forged by community action groups and local authorities – which often regard each other with mutual suspicion and mistrust according to social scientists working on a project funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), the Scottish Funding Council (SFC), the Local Authorities and the Research Councils’ Initiative (LARCI).
Nick Clegg on green investment and jobs
In a speech on the green economy at the Global Business Summit on Energy, Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg announced a £100 million fund for green investment and set out how the renewable energy sector is delivering vital investment and jobs to the UK.
